The following table shows the timeline for major events of Central Michigan University’s academic program prioritization.

| January 21, 2011 | Direct reports to submit 1) list of units to be reviewed and evaluated, 2) requests for unit exclusion (with supporting rationale). Reports to be submitted to Darby Gwisdala. |
| January 28, 2011 | Units submit to supervisor list of units' major functions and underlying services provided. |
| May 1, 2011 | Units submit reports to the senior officer/supervisor to which the units report. |
| June 30, 2011 | SOs/supervisors summary reports/action plans and submit them, along with units' individual reports, to the Provost (via Darby Gwisdala). |
| August 15, 2011 | Provost prepares prioritized list of changes to be implemented under various scenarios. |
| September 30, 2011 | Review and recommendations by COD. |
| October 2011 | Approval by President and cabinet. |
| Fall 2011 and beyond | Action plans implemented. |
